Supernova 2001dp (Type Ia),
IAUC 7683 discovered Aug. 12.9, 2001 by CROSS
Found in NGC 3953 at R.A. = 11h53m45s.2, Decl. = +52o20'56".8
Located 34".8 west and 80".2 north of the nucleus of NGC 3953
(Discovery image) (Yasuo Sano image (local mirror))
Mag 14.4, Type Ia (Bisei Spectum) (Reference: vsnet-alert 6298, alert 6299)
Photos of
SN 2001dp have been taken by Zorko Vičar, Nace Vičar
(with us was also 6 year old boy Matjaž)
16th of August 2001, at 20:40 UTC with CCD ST7 (no Filter), exposure:2X90s,
telescope SC 10", f/6.3", city Ljubljana, state Slovenia.
We estimate CCD magnitude near value 14.5.
See
Photometry Reference Images.
Picture is bad quality because image has been done from city Ljubljana,
where light pollution is very strong.
One detail: during taking down images we saw between Ursa Major and
Ursa Minor very (exceptionaly) bright flying (burning) object
(at 20:56 UTC, magnitude near -10, max. wide about 3 degrees,
without trace, the
event hav took about 3 seconds).
The object is
extinguished below Algol. We have never seen such thing yet.
